The last time Joel came through here was a few years back when he toured with STATIONa (who called themselves the A minus for that period of touring with Joel) STATIONa ate itself alive, shat itself into the A Minus toilet bowl and out came the Doers.

months later another joel album was gearing up. it was decided to preserve the memory of the A Minus. so on a one practice refresher course we stepped into the studio to contribute to Return of the Fucked as recorded by Jesse Gander who in turn added some organ and piano tracks and joined the band (and also recorded Varge's full length in March of 2006). love was in the air again, unavoidable in the spring time as it were. somehow, the Last of the Neighbours was conceived. an identity rooted in the tenacity of good times, a membership limited to the idealistic with a love for the songs.

the Neighbours survived in the shadow of our larger lives. lurking about and causing shit when permitted. After a farewell show, The Last of the Neighbours promptly announced more shows. Don't believe anything they say... just know this... they will rock our asses off and our bowels will fall to the ground.

GHOST HOUSE... we had an idea then practiced a few times then recorded 9 songs and we are not finished them quite yet. played two shows. six months apart. going to tour 'cross canada this summer. GEORIGA STRAIGHT REVIEW Departures (Ghost House Music) While its tempting to use the term supergroup to describe Ghost House, lets use fine pedigree instead and avoid the hype. Ostensibly the songs of producer- and musician-about-town Jesse Gander (exBlack Rice and Operation Makeout), Ghost Houses debut record, Departures, boasts contributions from Cadeauxs Katie Lapi, drumming wunderkind Allan Boyle, Marissa Johnson and Steve Matheson of the Seams, plus a host of other unsung Vancouver talents. Released with little fanfare last December, the record is a growing word-of-mouth favourite, appreciated largely for sounding like no other act in Vancouver right now. As you might expect from someone who was in Black Rice, the songs are angular and asymmetric, yet possessed of enough melody to make them vaguely addictive. What you wouldnt expect is the sprawling ambition and subtle sweetness of the record, which is postmath rock meets Rhodes-driven new wave, with shots of 60s-girl-group backing vocals, alt-country guitars, and Motown bass lines thrown in to keep things interesting.

VARGE - I don't see why I have to spout on about Varge again... you all know them now and you probably love them. Scumbags. Mudflaps. They just toured all over the place and made it back... like 20 shows with The Doers. When they came back, their CD Release party at the Salon d'Livre in the mall made them as cool as Tiffany...Mall security jerks. Jokes. Antoine, Mitch and Jeff rock the nasty off of heavy, roll it up and walk around back and smoke it. New Album... Must Lunge... produced by the aforementioned Jesse Gander... available now.

La derniére fois que Joel est passé à Sudbury, il y a quelques années de cela, il faisait de la tournée avec STATIONa (qui se nommaient aMINUS lorsqu’ils se liaient a Joel) STATIONa c’est auto digérer pour plus tard nous laisser une crotte au cœur de ce que fut aMinus et ce qui bientôt devint THE DOERS. Et quelle glorieuse crotte!!!

Par la suite un autre album de Joel prenait vie, et donc. Après une seule répète, le groupe se retrouva dans le studio pour enregistrer Return of the fucked avec Jesse Gander, qui y ajouta aussi un nouveau timbre avec de l’orgue et du piano. Le printemps et l’amour dans le vent, the last of the neighbours fut conçu : une identité vouée à ne passer que des beaux moments et un abonnement limité aux idéalistes avec un amour pour la chanson.

The neighbours survécu dans l’ombre des priorités des membres du groupe, de leurs nombreux projets personnels, ressurgissant en temps et en lieux pour brasser d’la marde. Après avoir déclarer le bout du bout de la route et avoir donner leur « dernier spectacle », the neighbours annoncent une autre série de spectacles…Il ne faut pas leur faire confiance; il vous ravageront et vous renverront chez vous avec vos trippes traînant derrière comme un bout de papier toilette sous vos semelles en quittant le cinéma.

Ils ont enregistrer leur nouveau disque « must lunge » au studio the Hive avec Jesse Gander de Ghost House, l’hiver dernier et nous reviennent tous récemment d’une tournée de l’est canadien avec the Doers. L’arbre généalogique Sudbury- Vancouver en pleine fleuraison!!!
